The murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Bandra, Mumbai, has left everyone, including Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, in shock. The incident occurred just weeks before the Maharashtra assembly polls when Siddique was shot by three men outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique’s office at Kher Nagar on Saturday night (October 12). He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he was declared dead. Siddique, aged 66, suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and one to the abdomen. Salman Khan was seen arriving at Lilavati Hospital shortly after Baba Siddique was admitted. The actor, who hosts Bigg Boss 18, cancelled his shoot midway to rush to the hospital, but sadly, Siddique succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The news has left the superstar ‘devastated’, with reports indicating that he has been ‘unable to sleep’, reveals India Today. A source was quoted as saying, “Bhai has been on the phone checking on the funeral arrangements and every other detail. He has cancelled all his personal meetings for the next few days.” The actor’s family has requested privacy during this tragic time. In light of the killing, security measures surrounding Salman Khan, a close friend of Baba Siddique, have been significantly heightened. The last rites of Siddique were performed with full state honours at Bada Qabrastan in Mumbai on October 13.
