Mumbai, January 17: In a shocking incident that took place in United Kingdom, a mother and child were killed after an Audi crashed into a car dealership outside Leeds city centre. The shocking incident took place outside Leeds city centre when the Audi car crashed into a wall outside a Jaguar dealership, thereby killing a mother and her child who were walking nearby on the busy road.
According to a report in Mirror.Co.UK, the accident took place on Monday morning. Soon after the incident was reported, emergency services were called in to the Sheepscar area of the city. Police officials said that the deceased mother and child were pedestrians walking on the road. An official from West Yorkshire Police also confirmed that the deceased were mother and child. Reportedly, the mother and the child were hit by the Audi car before it crashes into the wall near Jaguar dealership. Soon after the crash, the mother and child were declared dead. Immediately after the incident, the police arrested the Audi driver, who was taken to hospital and placed under arrest.
Cops said that the Audi car driver suffered injuries but they were not life-threatening. Paul Conroy, detective inspector said, “This is an absolutely tragic incident, and we are working to support the family of the woman and child involved. As per eyewitnesses, the woman was taking her child to school when the duo were hit by the Audi car. Some eyewitness also said that the driver was revving his engine at the signal before flying off the car down the road. The car first collided with pedestrians before crashing into the wall of a car dealership.
