On 6 May 2021 the Herald Sun published an article about Haileybury College pleading guilty for failing to provide a safe workplace following the death of an employee from a falling tree branch.
The article referred to school principal Derek Scott entering a guilty plea.
The Herald Sun wishes to make it clear that Mr Scott was not charged with any offence.
He attended court as a representative of the school and pleaded guilty on the schoolтАЩs behalf.
The Herald Sun does not suggest Mr Scott was personally found guilty of or was personally responsible for the manтАЩs death.
The Herald Sun apologises to Mr Scott for any harm caused.
