All-New Nissan X-Trail 7-Seater SUV Revealed; India Launch Soon

Mumbai, July 18: The Japanese automaker Nissan has officially pulled the wraps off the much-awaited India-spec X-Trail SUV. The carmaker will announce the SUV prices in the coming days. It’s worth noting that Nissan is resurrecting the ‘X-Trail’ nameplate in India after a decade-long hiatus. The Toyota Fortuner rival comes to India via the CBU route. The fourth generation is the second product in Nissan’s portfolio after the Magnite sub-compact SUV for the Indian market.

Based on the CMF-C platform, the India-spec Nissan X-Trail comes with a 3-row configuration, unlike the model sold in global markets, which is available in both 5-seater and 7-seater versions. Dimension-wise, the SUV is 4,680mm long, 1,840mm wide, and 1,725mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,705mm and 210mm of ground clearance. Skoda India Teases All-New Compact SUV.

Aesthetically, the all-new X-Trail looks premium with an upright and squared-out appearance underlined by signature-style dark chromed V-Motion grille, split-style headlamps, diamond-cut alloys, rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding, wrap-around LED taillights. It will be available in three body colours – Solid White, Champagne Silver and Diamond Black.

On the inside, the fourth-gen Nissan X-Trail has a well-laid dual-tone interior with black-coloured upholstery. In terms of features, the SUV will come equipped with ADAS, a dual-pane sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ABS with EBD, 360-degree cameras, 7-airbags and more.

The all-new Nissan X-Trail will be a petrol-only model. It will draw power from a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, turbo petrol engine paired to a strong-hybrid system producing 201 bhp of maximum power with a peak torque of 305 Nm, and comes paired to an 8-step continuously variable transmission (CVT). The SUV misses out on 4WD drivetrain options. Tata Curvv To Launch in India on August 7.

Nissan is likely to price the fourth-generation X-Trail SUV between INR 35-40 lakh. When launched, it will lock horns with the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Innova HyCross, and Hyundai Tucson.
