Sky News host Alan Jones has remembered and honoured the life of farmer, producer, businessman and world champion, David Warmoll.
“He ran a family business at a place called Jack’s Creek, which is near Willow Tree, a village in the NSW Liverpool Plains. And year after year, he won a worldwide award for the best steak – the Wagyu F2 +45 Day Grain Fed Fillet,” he said.
“He would take his steak to London and beat entries from dozens of other countries. He won the world champion title three years in a row.
“He loved Sky News. He would text me almost every night after the program. And he was aware and plugged in. His family emigrated from Ireland before opening butchers’ shops on the Victorian and NSW goldfields.”
“In 1947, they moved to the Liverpool plains. You can ask for Jack’s Creek beef at leading restaurants. A wonderful Australian who took on the world’s best in something that we love, the world of steak. He punched above his weight. A world champion.
“And I hope he can hear me saying, they will never take that away from him.”
