Air Asia to begin operations from terminal 2 in Bengaluru airport | Bengaluru

The operations at newly launched terminal 2 in Bengaluru airport are slowly gearing up as many airlines will use it for domestic departures and arrivals. Air Asia announced they will shift the operations to terminal 2 from February 15 and other airlines are also likely to shift their major domestic operations to this terminal.

In a tweet, Air Asia said, “A new flying experience awaits you as we move to our new home in Namma Bengaluru. We are moving all i5 domestic operations to Terminal 2 at @BLRAirport from 15th February 2023. See you soon!” Currently only Star Airways is operating from terminal 2.

In January, The central government of India sanctioned the deployment of around 1,700 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the latest terminal of Kempegowda International Airport. The operations at the latest terminal began on January 15 as Star Airways flight took off to Kalaburgi from Bengaluru. A five-lane way was also made ready for smoother vehicle arrivals and departures for pick up and drop of passengers at the airport. International operations are expected to commence in April in Terminal 2.
