Sukanya Sharma, a 33-year-old Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Agra, conducted a covert operation to assess women’s safety in the city. Dressed as a tourist, Sharma called the 112 helpline late at night outside Agra Cantt Railway Station, posing as a scared traveler. The police responded quickly, and the women’s patrolling team contacted her for assistance. After testing the system, Sharma boarded an auto to evaluate safety further. The driver, verified by police, safely dropped her off. Sharma’s initiative was praised as a key step toward improving women’s safety in Agra, a city that hosts millions of tourists visiting the Taj Mahal.
