On January 22, IT officials conducted a raid at Sukumar’s residence in Hyderabad. At the time, Sukumar was at the airport but was escorted back home by the officials for the search. This raid comes amid the director’s success with Pushpa 2: The Rule, which has earned over INR 1600 crore globally. Around 55 teams from the Income Tax department conducted surprise raids across over eight locations in Hyderabad, including properties in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills. Pushpa 2, which released on December 5, 2024, became the highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
