After assurance to fulfil demands, call for road blockade from August 3 withdrawn | India News

BATHINDA: Farmer organisation BKU Ekta Sidhupur president and SKM leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that after the state government gave assurance to fulfill their demands, the call to block highways has been withdrawn.
The decision was taken at a marathon meeting chaired by Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday evening.
Dallewal said that the state government has agreed to give compensation for crop loss very soon, the arrests of sugarcane growers will be cleared by September 7.
He added that jobs will be provided to family members of deceased farmers and cases against farmers will also be taken back.
Several farm organisations had given a call for road blockade from August 3 for an indefinite period.
