Media Watch’s Paul Barry needs to “correct the record” after he “joined in the condemnation” of Donald Trump over a story which turned out not to be true.
Last year in the midst of the Black Lives Matter protests, the US media “fulminated” over Donald Trump’s walk from the White House through Lafayette Square.
Media depictions reported Trump had the area cleared of protestors by police so he could stage a “photo opportunity”.
According to Mr Kenny, a year on there is “just one big problem with that narrative”.
“That story just wasn’t true, the decision to clear the path had nothing to do with Donald Trump,” he said.
“An investigation revealed last week that there was no political input, the decision was made by the police.”
