PR Counsel Principal Kristy McSweeney says Australian Olympian Peter Bol’s journey to quest for gold in the 800 metre final at the Tokyo Olympics is a “fantastic story”.
“It’s a fantastic West Australian story, it’s a fantastic story of multi-cultural Australia, it’s a fantastic story of if you want to have a go you can actually get on the Olympic team,” she told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.
“You don’t have to go to the right schools, have the right family and have the right infrastructure; if you can run then you can get there.”
Peter Bol is the first Australian since 1968 to reach the 800m final at the Olympics.
