Mumbai, September 22: JSW MG Motor India has officially announced prices for the recently launched MG Windsor EV in the country. The SAIC-owned British carmaker offers the EV in three variants – Excite, Exclusive and Essence. Previously, the carmaker introduced the Windsor EV at an introductory price of INR 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) without battery pack cost. The battery is offered on a subscription basis for a minimum cost of INR 3.5/km. Prices for the EV with battery pack included start from INR 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the EV will come starting October 3 onwards.
The Windsor EV is a 5-seater MPV that MG calls a Crossover Utility Vehicle. It features an AeroGlide design language, which gives it a unique and futuristic look. The Windsor is available in four body shades – Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green. MG says that various initiatives like a lifetime warranty on the battery for the first owner, 60 per cent buyback after 3 years, and one-year free charging at public chargers using the eHUB by MG app will ensure complete peace of mind for the customers. On the inside, the EV gets Aero Lounge seats reclinable up to 135 degrees, infinity glass roof, 15.6-inch touchscreen display on the centre console, 8.8-inch digital instrument units, four driving modes, wireless phone charger, auto-dimming IRVMs, leather upholstery, 360-degree cameras, connected car technology, ambient lighting, Infinity audio system, ventilated front, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, and a panoramic glass roof, all-LED lighting, reclining rear seat backrest, 6-airbags, ABS, ESP, hill start assist and descent control and auto headlamps and wipers, cruise control, auto climate control, and more.
MG offers the Windsor EV with a single 38 kWh Li-ion battery pack, which produces 134 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque offering a claimed single-charge range of 332 km. The EV also gets four driving modes – Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport. The base and mid variants carry a price tag of INR 13.49 lakh and INR 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
