Mumbai, July 30: The Homegrown SUV maker Mahindra is leaving no stone unturned to create buzz for the upcoming Thar Roxx, which is scheduled to launch in India on August 15. The automaker has dropped a new teaser of the Thar 5-door SUV confirming several design elements and a panoramic sunroof. This comes after the brand released the previous teaser, which was released a few days ago, giving us the first look at the soon-to-be-launched SUV. The Roxx is expected to be priced between INR 16 lakh and INR 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
It is undoubtedly one of the most highly awaited launches of the year. Courtesy of previous spy images, we already know what the front end of the SUV will look like. The SUV will come equipped with circular LED projector headlamps outlined by C-shaped DRLs giving a bold look. Upfront, there will be a unique six-slot grille design wherein all slots are separated by a horizontal slat. The SUV is also confirmed to get fog lamps, revised front bumper, new alloy wheels, and more. However, it will also borrow some of the styling cues from the 3-door counterpart. On the inside, the Mahindra Thar Roxx will come equipped with an updated infotainment unit, wireless connectivity for smartphones, ventilated front seats, a digital instrument panel, automatic climate control, a large panoramic sunroof and more. Mahindra could equip the Thar Roxx with a tried-and-tested Scorpio-N sourced 2.2-litre diesel engine that is good for 174 bhp and 400 Nm of power figures. Another engine that could be offered could be a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol unit. Transmission options could include a 6-speed manual and automatic. The SUV will likely come in a rear-wheel-drive configuration alongside the four-wheel-drive option.
