Lionel Messi’s Argentina has made its way into the finals of the Copa America 2021. The team went on to defeat Columbia 3-2 in the semi-finals on penalties and has been gathering praises on social media. But here was this picture of Lionel Messi that is doing rounds on social media. The Argentine captain played the entire second half with a bleeding ankle. Messi started bleeding after a challenge from Frank Fabra. Post this, he collapsed on the ground but after a while continued playing. The fans quickly spotted his left ankle that continued to bleeding throughout the second half. Needless to say that the pictures of the bleeding ankle went viral on social media. Talking about the game, Argentina won the match on penalties. The match had ended with 1-1 at the final whistle. Lautaro Martinez gave an early lead to team Argentina by scoring a goal in the 7th minute of the game. Luiz Dias gave an equaliser to the team at the 61st minute of the game. The match then headed to penalties.

Argentina won the game 3-2 on penalties. After the game, Messi took to social media and a picture with Emi Martinez who stopped the last penalty to ensure Argentina’s win over Colombia. Argentina will play against Brazil in the finals of the Copa America 2021.
