Man attacked with sharp weapon, robbed near Katraj bus stop; 2 teenagers arrested

The Pune city police recently arrested two teenagers and also detained a minor boy for allegedly robbing a man near the Katraj bus stop. The victim, identified as Sachin Talwar, 31, lodged the FIR in this case. The police have identified the arrested accused as Atharva Ravindra Adsul, 19, and Raju N K, 18.

The police said the victim is a native of Karnataka and a resident of Kolhapur. He came to Pune for work. He reached Katraj by a private bus in the early hours of June 1 and was walking when three persons approached him on the pretext of asking for an address. Then, all of a sudden, one of them attacked him with a sharp weapon and robbed cash amounting to Rs 4,500. The victim received an injury to his head during the attack.

The police said he underwent treatment at a hospital in Pune and then went back to Kolhapur, where he lodged the FIR at Shahupuri police station. As the offence had taken place in Pune, the FIR was transferred to the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station for further investigation.

Assistant police inspector Amol Rasal said, “We identified the three accused in quick time. Two of them have been arrested… The third accused is a minor of age 16 years, so he has been detained. Further investigation is on.”
