The Guildford woman admitted she had “completely forgotten” buying her winning ticket.
“I’m absolutely astounded,” she said.
“I thought maybe somebody was messing with me, so I had to share the news with my nephew so he could help me out.”
Initially, she said, her nephew suspected a scam as well.
“But once he realised the truth, he couldn’t contain his excitement and joined in the celebration.”
The woman had the only division one winning ticket in the Set For Life lotto drawn on May 6.
The prize was $4.8 million, which will be paid in $20,000 monthly instalments for the next 20 years.я╗┐
