Four excise officials, including two women, were injured after a liquor mafia attacked them in Manaura village of Rohtas district on Thursday night. Three vehicles were also damaged during the attack.

The team raided the village after receiving specific inputs about the illegal sale of liquor. Bihar is a dry state.
The team arrested four people – Santosh Ram, Manoj Kumar Prajapati, Devkumar Ram and Banti Kumar – for their involvement, but their supporters attacked the excise team with bricks, stones and other weapons and released the arrested people, the injured officials said.
A case has been registered with Bikramganj police station and there has been a heavy deployment of police personnel to nab the assailants. Six accused have been arrested so far, while raids are still on, superintendent of police Vineet Kumar said.
