Two unidentified persons opened fire in the air and escaped after they failed to rob money from a wine shop owner in Pune’s Narhe Sunday night.
Tukaram Sopan Ingle, 57, who runs Hero Wines in Narhe, lodged an FIR in this case against the two accused persons at the Sinhagad Road police station.
The police said the complainant closed his shop around 11 pm and moved out with the cash collected from his business Sunday. He was about to leave the spot in his vehicle when two persons on two-wheelers intercepted him all of a sudden.
The duo tried to snatch his bag which had Rs 2.21 lakh cash. The police said Ingle resisted the snatching bid. Meanwhile, citizens rushed to his help. So, the robbers fired a bullet in the air and then escaped from the spot. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Senior police inspector Shailesh Sankhe said a complaint has been lodged and a probe is on to identify the accused persons. The police have reportedly got some clues from a video captured by a CCTV camera in the vicinity of the crime scene.
