Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo┬аsays her familyтАЩs reality TV shows produced fans from all walks of life.
The reality star was on TLCтАЩs тАЬ19 Kids and CountingтАЭ from 2008 through 2015, and later her sisters landed their own series, тАЬCounting OnтАЭ, which was cancelled earlier this week.
On the latest episode of the podcast тАЬDinner Party With Jeremy FallтАЭ, Jinger recalled how she and her sisters used to receive love letters from men in prison.
тАЬGuys would write from prison for my sisters. It was crazy,тАЭ she shared. тАЬWe constantly had letters coming in the mail and it was like, тАШOh, who is it for this time? Oh, itтАЩs for Jana, oh, itтАЩs for JessaтАЩ тАж it was mind blowing just to think that somebody thought they would walk right into your life and marry you, like, they were already basically proposing in their letters.тАЭ
Jinger added, тАЬAnd they thought it was legit but looking at it, you know, I can understand how somebody would think, тАШOh, I know you so well because I watched you from a child grow up,тАЩ so they think that thereтАЩs a relationship there when thereтАЩs not. ItтАЩs like, a one-sided thing.тАЭ
The 27-year-old mother of two, who has been married to┬аJeremy Vuolo since 2016, also said there would be тАЬfanboysтАЭ who would attend their church looking to court her and her sisters.
тАЬThere were a lot of guys who came around, sometimes they would come visit the family or visit our church тАФ that was a good in for some guys. They thought, тАШOh, if I come to your church, thatтАЩs my in,’тАЭ she noted. тАЬIt just felt so bizarre because itтАЩs like, тАШWho are you? I donтАЩt know you.тАЩ The relationship side of things wasnтАЩt even there, it wasnтАЩt like, тАШOh┬аlook, IтАЩve been hanging out for a while and get to know your family and then weтАЩll see if anything happens.тАЩ They would say to my family, my parents or something, тАШOh yeah, IтАЩm so interested in your daughter.’тАЭ
Needless to say, Jinger was not impressed. тАЬI remember that being something that, as a young person, thatтАЩs just like, тАШnope, nope, nope, thatтАЩs not gonna work for me,’тАЭ she said adamantly. тАЬAnd I think going back to that whole trust thing, itтАЩs something that you want to make sure that this person has good intentions. ItтАЩs not just like, тАШOh, this guy wants to be on TV and hereтАЩs his big break.┬аIтАЩm gonna go marry one of the Duggar daughters and thatтАЩs my in.тАЩ ThatтАЩs the last thing you wanted.тАЭ
Jinger met her now-husband, Jeremy, through her┬аbrother-in-law, Ben Seewald, who is married to her sister,┬аJessa (Duggar) Seewald.
тАЬWhen he started coming around, it wasnтАЩt because he was interested in me right off, he just┬аhad a relationship with Ben, my brother-in-law,тАЭ she said of first being introduced to her husband of four years. тАЬI heard so many awesome things about Jeremy, and it was from my sister and brother-in-law, and so, it was a perfect, perfect scenario.тАЭ
Jinger said she liked that Jeremy wasnтАЩt too familiar with her familyтАЩs fame.┬атАЬI know it can happen other ways as well, like, it could have happened any other way тАФ Jer could have come into my life and known about the show,тАЭ she continued. тАЬBut for me personally, it was awesome that he wasnтАЩt like, a fanboy, you know? It was like, he had no clue about my family.тАЭ
