Global non-profit organisation тАШShe Changes ClimateтАЩ launched a special initiative on International WomenтАЩs Day titled тАШEmbrace EquityтАЩ aimed at amplifying womenтАЩs voices around the impacts of climate change.

тАЬShe Changes Climate drives awareness of the crucial role women play in accelerating just climate action. It is committed to ensuring that women, in all their diversity, are able to make critical decisions to save humanity,тАЭ stated a press release from the NGO.

The India event took place at One8 CommuneтАУPune, wherein discussions and networking were led by Shreya Ghodawat, a sustainability adviser and impact leader.

тАЬThe eventтАЩs main objective was to inspire and encourage women to own more space in climate change conversations and lead innovative climate action solutions,тАЭ said Ghodawat, who now as ambassador is taking forward the vision of She Changes Climate in India.

тАЬI am committed to promoting justice, fairness, equitable rights, de colonialism and climate solutions,тАЭ she said.

Among those who attended the event were women leaders and influencers from corporate, social, political and sustainability backgrounds, namely Payal Rajpal (director тАУ Robotex India & IBTC Estonia), Pooja Anand (president тАУ Pune City Congress Women Cell), Ruby Pashankar (managing partner тАУ Limban Resorts), Avani Awasthee, Pooja Misal (founder, director тАУ SMEFтАЩs Brick Group of institutes), Sheetal Ranka (co-founder тАУ Ranka Jewellers), Tejaswini Pawar (senior VP тАУ Dentsu), Meenal Patil (RJ тАУ Radio One Pune), Namrata Kriplani, Dimple Dhalwani, Divya Chavan Jachak, Pronoti Shroff, Tejaswini Patil (trustee тАУ Mauli Vidyapeeth) and others.

On the occasion, a special film made by She Changes Climate in partnership with Visionary Pictures was also screened. The film captures seven powerful voices that address the importance of a gendered narrative in climate change, leadership, indigenous rights and scientific research, the release said.
