New Delhi, March 6 : Maruti Suzuki is all set to officially launch its two mega products in India, namely the Jimny and the all-new Fronx, that were unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023.
The pre-launch bookings of the 5-door Jimny and the Fronx have been already underway and have received almost 35,000 bookings. Maruti Suzuki Jimny & Fronx – Powertrains :
In India, only the 5-door variant of the Jimny will be offered. This true-blue SUV will get powered by a 1.5L petrol engine generating 103 bhp of power and 134 Nm of peak torque paired to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission options along with the AllGrip Pro all-wheel-drivetrain for incredible off-roading abilities. The all new Maruti Fronx urban SUV or crossover will get powered by a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine churning out 98.6 bhp and 147.6 Nm mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option. There will also be a 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol engine choice offering 88.5 bhp and 113 Nm paired with a 5-speed manual and automatic transmission choices.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny & Fronx – Bookings :
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV can be booked for an advanced token amount of Rs 25,000, while the Fronx can be booked for a token amount of just Rs 11,000 on the Nexa website or at all Nexa premium dealerships across India.
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed to the media that both the SUVs are receiving great bookings, and that the Jimny has received over 21,000 bookings, while the Fronx has received 12,000 bookings till now, and is about to cross the 35,000 bookings mark.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny & Fronx – Launch Timeline and Expected Price :
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx will launch in April, that’s next month, while the Jimny is expected to launch in the month of May, when their official prices will be revealed.
The Fronx is touted to be the Indo-Japanese car major’s most affordable sub-compact SUV and is likely to be aggressively starting at around Rs 7.50. On the other hand, the Jimny 5-door is expected to be priced starting at around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
