The Bengaluru police on Wednesday arrested a driver of a bike taxi for allegedly snatching chains in the city’s JP Nagar area. The accused has been arrested within four days from the day of incident, said police.
P Krishna Kant, deputy commissioner of police, Bengaluru (South) also said that the accused runs a hotel in Karnataka’s Mandya and even finished his BCA degree. He tweeted, “A Rapido employee involved in chain snatching is now in chains. Excellent work was done by #JPNagar PS in catching the accused within 4 days of the incident. Accused is a BCA Graduate who also runs a hotel in Mandya.”
Cops have also arrested an Odisha based dacoit gang with 6 people for allegedly robbing a house in Bengaluru’s KS Layout. One of the accused is also said to be the watchman of one of the apartments in the city. A post in the official Twitter handle of Bengaluru police read, “One of them, a watchman, did more than just watching, so we did the catching. All 6 involved have been arrested within 4 days of the incident.”
Recently, a Goa man was arrested at Mangaluru and cops seized 16 grams of narcotics which are estimated to be worth ₹1.56 lakh from Karnataka on Sunday.
