Moose Wala killing plotter Goldy Brar caught in US | India News

Canada-based gangster Satvinder Singh, aka Goldy Brar, the suspected mastermind of rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s May 29 murder, was detained in California over a week ago and has been in US police’s custody since, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann announced on Friday during a campaign trip to Gujarat.
“This is confirmed news, and I say this being the head of the state government. US police are in touch with the Indian government and Punjab regarding his deportation. As we are a signatory to an extradition treaty with the US, he will soon be in our police’s custody,” Mann told reporters. Punjab Police had got a red-corner notice issued against the gangster through the Union home ministry.

The CM claimed there was evidence Goldy had been in contact with Pakistani agencies. He said the gangster’s detention was a step towards “eliminating the gang culture” in Punjab, run by criminals from the state living overseas.
Goldy, whose roots are in Punjab’s Muktsar, moved to Canada on a student visa in 2017 and built a life in crime from there. He apparently shifted base to the US after Moose Wala’s murder near his native village in Punjab’s Mansa. The gangster also claimed responsibility for the killing of Dera Sacha Sauda follower Pardeep Singh, who was facing sacrilege cases, on November 10.

Sidhu Moose Wala’s father Balkaur Singh had demanded recently that the Punjab government announce an award of Rs 2 crore for any information on gangster Goldy Brar, the suspected mastermind of the rapper’s May 29 murder. He offered to pick up the tab by selling his land holdings.
Balkaur said after CM Bhagwant Mann’s statement he felt a sense of relief at news of Goldy being detained in the US. “He should be brought to India at the earliest to face the law and hanged to death. Gangsters like Goldy, Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria are ruining the youth and causing a lot of harm to Punjab.”
Moose Wala’s father said once Goldy is extradited, he should be made to sit with Bishnoi and Bhagwanpuria to get to the bottom of the conspiracy behind his son’s murder. “They should be subjected to narco testing.”
Gunmen shot Moose Wala multiple times at Jawaharke village near Mansa while he was out on a drive with a cousin and a friend.
According to the chargesheet filed in the Moose Wala murder case, Goldy coordinated with the shooters and plotters, including Bishnoi and Bhagwanpuria. He allegedly arranged weapons, cash, cars, phones, mobile SIMs and shelters for the accused.
