The CongressтАЩs Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Madhya Pradesh from neighbouring Maharashtra on Wednesday, with party leader Rahul Gandhi saying the nationwide campaign was against hatred, violence and fear being spread in society.
The yatra, which began on September 7 from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, entered Bodarli village in Madhya PradeshтАЩs Burhanpur, where former prime minister late Indira Gandhi had addressed a rally in 1980.
A large number of Congressmen carried the tricolour in their hands as they reached Bodarli to join the foot march.
тАЬThere are three goals of this journey. This is a march against the hatred, violence and fear that is being spread in India. Look at the way of the BJP. First of all, it spreads fear among people. Fear in the hearts of the youth. How тАУ by increasing unemployment. Fear in the hearts of the farmers. How тАУ by not paying the right price. By not paying the crop insurance money and by not waiving off the loan. Fear in the hearts of the workers. By not giving MNREGA money. First they spread fear and later it turns into violence,тАЭ Gandhi said.
тАЬViolence is not a thing. Violence is a form of fear. One who is not afraid cannot commit violence. Only fearful people commit violence. The first goal of the yatra is to remove fear from the minds of farmers, laborers and youth. No one needs to be fearful in this India,тАЭ he added.
Hitting back, BJP state president VD Sharma said: тАЬIt is the Congress which has been practising politics of hatred for years. Since they have been exposed, they are doing the drama of Bharat Jodo (bringing the country together).тАЭ
