After 97 entertaining minutes, two disallowed goals, France beat Germany 1-0, courtesy of an own goal from Mats Hummels. Both Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe found the back of the net, but the latter was off-side during the build-up on both occasions. With this win, France join Portugal at the top of the group but the former leads due to a superior goal difference.

Arguably, the toughest group in Euro 2020 was on display on Tuesday as Portugal picked up a 3-0 win over Hungary in their opening match of the tournament. The defending champions had to work hard against the Hungarian defence but after Raphaël Guerreiro hammered in the first goal in the 84th minute, things changed. Cristiano Ronaldo slotted in a penalty three minutes later, and five minutes after that, he struck another goal to help Portugal to a 3-0 win.

There were only Group F matches on Tuesday, so the rest of the points table of other groups remain unchanged.
