Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe is backing a new movie studio to be built at Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales North Coast in what is expected to be a major boost to local jobs.
The studio will be built at the Pacific Bay Resort which will enable cast and crew to film and stay in Australia with their families for long periods of time.
The demand for film and television production is booming in Australia since parts of the film industry in the United States are shut down due to the pandemic.
Mr Crowe will be joined by NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro for an announcement about the project at 10:30am this morning.
