Guests who abused two kissing women were shamed out of a swimming pool after being loudly jeered by holidaymakers.

The couple were told “stop kissing your girlfriend in the pool” by a group because there were children present.

News outlet The Black Bay Area posted about the alleged incident at Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento, California, on Instagram.

Video footage showed the ‘homophobic’ guests leaving to chants of “shame” from a number of guests.

Other swimmers supported the pair days before the start of Pride Month, a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community around the world

Black Bay Area wrote: “A pack of white straight women in a cabana demanded that a queer black woman… stop kissing her girlfriend in the pool because ‘there were children present’.

“Of course there were many other (straight/white) couples in the pool with plenty of PDA, but they only insisted that only black queer woman stop. And we know why.

“When confronted by bystanders, ‘the white party’ claimed there’s no way they were racist because one of them was ‘Hispanic’.”

Domonique Veasley, one of the gay women, told CBS Sacramento that security was called.

But she said the pair appreciated the support from other people in the pool.

“My initial reaction for the children was ‘Oh yeah, and then I was like ‘You are asking me to stop being me,” she said.

“It would’ve been a beautiful moment for her to teach about love to her kids but instead she decided to sexualise two women. This is not okay anymore, it’s 2021.

“The support from some gave me faith for the future and it showed me that it’s going to take a long time, it’s a long road, but it’s a spark of faith.”

The video also been shared on other social media channels.

Daryle Lamont Jenkins, executive director of One People’s Project, wrote: “The white women at this Sacramento hotel pool were pissed that a queer Black woman was kissing her gf in public because there were children present.

“They were shamed out.”

She added: “An unfortunate disagreement between guests occurred at our pool over the holiday weekend, and the matter has since been resolved.”
