тАЬEverything IтАЩve experienced is what connects me to the world,тАЭ┬аDavis says. тАЬItтАЩs given me an extraordinary sense of compassion. ItтАЩs reconciling that young girl in me and healing from the past тАУ and finding home.тАЭ

тАЬMy dad changed,тАЭ Davis explains. тАЬI wanted to love my dad. And hereтАЩs the thing: My dad loved me. I saw it. I felt it. I received it, and I took it. For me, thatтАЩs a much better gift and less of a burden than going through my entire life carrying that big, heavy weight of who he used to be and what he used to do. ThatтАЩs my choice. ThatтАЩs my legacy: forgiving my dad.тАЭ

Davis adds that life is тАЬmessyтАЭ and instead of being angry, she owns everything thatтАЩs happened to her.

тАЬItтАЩs a part of who I am.тАЭ

Finding Me┬аis set for release on April 26.
