A mum has confessed to an ’embarrassing’ lunchbox blunder which forced her son’s school to send her an email.

Jordan-Ell took to a popular Facebook group to share her hysterical tale which could serve as a lesson to other parents to check before they leave their homes.

The mum-of-three said her son grabbed a bag of food from the fridge believing it was his lunchbox.

But when he arrived at school and looked into the bag he realised he had brought in a bag of raw sausages instead of his lunch snacks.

Jordan-Ell posted pic of the sausages on the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas Facebook page saying she could see the funny side of the mix-up.

She said: “Had to share my mum fail today.

“So after dropping my son to school this morning, I came home quick and realised he left his lunch in the fridge – weird because he said he had it.

“(But) he never empties his lunch bag so I thought, ‘Oh God, he has took yesterday’s leftovers!’

“Then an email came from the school saying as they went to (get) his lunch they found sausages! “He only went and took my raw sausages from the fridge instead of his lunch.

“Will be checking from now on. Literally has made my day!”

Jordan-Ell said she dropped off the right lunch for her son so he “definitely didn’t go hungry”.

Her amusing tale led to other parents sharing similar blunders.

One mum admitting send her son to school with a pouch of cat food instead of a drink.

She wrote: “Had them both on the side and picked the wrong one. Phone call from the school was a funny conversation!”

“I made my daughter a cheese sandwich but sent in the remaining block of cheese in her lunch box and put the sandwich back in the fridge,” another mum confessed.

A third mum commented: “My husband once put a raw onion in our daughter’s lunch box once (it was in foil in the fridge) instead of the sandwich I’d made. I mean how? The shape isn’t even similar!”
