Following a BBC investigation that found Martin Bashir duped Princess Diana into participating in her notorious 1995 тАЬPanoramaтАЭ interview, family members of the late Michael Jackson are claiming that the British journalist used similar tactics to trick Jackson into allowing Bashir access for his 2003 documentary тАЬLiving with Michael JacksonтАЭ.

тАЬBoth Michael and Diana were victims of BashirтАЩs dark ambitions and dirty tricks and he is finally paying a price,тАЭ Tito Jackson, the late singerтАЩs brother, told┬аthe┬аSunday Mirror.

According to the Mirror, TitoтАЩs son, Taj, believes that BashirтАЩs documentary was a factor in JacksonтАЩs 2009 death. тАЬBashirтАЩs manipulated footage and unethical journalism is one of the main reasons my uncle is not here today,тАЭ said Taj. тАЬThat trial broke him. Shame on those who provided cover for Bashir. Shame on those who rewarded him. My family deserve an investigation and apology too.тАЭ

тАЬBashir created a fake narrative about my brother, which becomes crystal clear when you view the outtakes Bashir kept secret,тАЭ said Tito.

тАЬHe used MichaelтАЩs trust and friendship with Diana to get the interview, manipulated Michael throughout the interview, then deceptively edited the footage,тАЭ he continued.

Spoon-bending pyschic Uri Geller, who introduced Bashir to Jackson, claims that Bashir won his trust with a faked letter from Princess Diana.

тАЬWhat convinced me to introduce him to Michael was a letter he pulled out of his pocket,тАЭ Geller told the┬аMirror.┬атАЬIt was folded two or three times and there was a logo on it. He said it was from Princess Diana, writing to him about how happy she was with the interview.тАЭ

Admitting he felt тАЬuneaseтАЭ about Bashir, Geller said тАЬit was the Diana letter that won my feelings over. He was a super-smooth operator. I regret that terrible introduction. It was the beginning of, I believe, MichaelтАЩs spiral downwards.тАЭ

тАЬThe family are considering their legal position,тАЭ said Matt Fiddes, who served as the King of PopтАЩs bodyguard. тАЬThey believe, ultimately, that BashirтАЩs portrayal of Michael and lies he spun destroyed his career.тАЭ

Added Fiddes: тАЬThey say Bashir never kept promises, including an agreement to edit out material Michael didnтАЩt want in. He used the Diana letter to gain MichaelтАЩs trust, but ended up betraying him.тАЭ
