An alleged member of a notorious European football hooligan firm has been found in the UK.
Police claim Polish kickboxer Michal Chmielewski, 39, is a тАЬprominent memberтАЭ of an ultras gang of thugs who follow Legia Warsaw.
He was on an Interpol most-wanted list after being convicted of a string of crimes in his home country, including drugs and firearms ┬нtrafficking, conspiracy to kidnap, and attempted extortion.
He fled to the UK while appealing a jail term handed down in January 2018.
He lived in Wallington, Surrey, from 2019 and detectives arrested him at a service station in West Yorks last month.
Michal Chmielewski has been remanded in custody
Police suspect he was on his way to Leicester to watch Legia play.
The game on November 25 was marred by violence.
Chmielewski has been remanded in custody until his next extradition hearing on January 20.
