All passengers on the first Newcastle to Brisbane flight since the Queensland borders opened will now be spending Christmas in quarantine after health authorities deemed everyone as a close contact.

It comes after a positive COVID-19 case was detected linked to the VA1105 flight.

Another flight from Brisbane to Townsville on Monday has also been listed as an exposure site, with all passengers sent into isolation.

They’ll be required to isolate for 14 days regardless of a negative result.
