Hail and heavy rain caused the collapse of a structure covering a historic temple in Mexico City on April 28. This footage, by Gabriel Gutierrez García, shows the damaged structure over the site of the 14th century Templo Mayor, which was the main temple of the Mexica people when Mexico City was known as Tenochtitlan. A museum at the site has operated since 1987. Mexico’s culture secretary, Alejandra Frausto, said the ancient site appeared to have escaped serious damage, according to an early assessment. A team from the National Institute of Anthropology and History was investigating. A police officer was treated at the scene. Credit: Gabriel Gutiérrez García via Storyful
