USPS sticks with Oshkosh Defense to build next-gen mail trucks.

Neither snow nor rain nor lawsuit from spurned electric vehicle maker Workhorse will reverse the U.S. Postal Service’s choice of Oshkosh Defense to build its next-generation mail trucks.

Last week, Workhorse withdrew its objection just one day before a court was scheduled to hold a hearing on the matter and two weeks after a short seller accused the company of fraud.

According to the Verge, Workhorse didn’t respond to requests for comment about the dismissal and hasn’t answered any questions about the Fuzzy Panda report claiming that it faked preorders and hid a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation from investors. The report said Ikea and other customers were experiencing problems with the electric vans that Workhorse recently began producing.

Workhorse sued the Postal Service in June over the decision to give the $6 billion contract for 165,000 mail trucks to Oshkosh, of Wisconsin. Workhorse has since appointed a new CEO, former Delphi Technologies chief Richard Dauch, who has said he wants to build a positive relationship with the government in the hopes of procuring future EV contracts.
