2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games Live Updates Day 9: Krishna Nagar, Palak Kohli Win Badminton Singles Group Matches
Krishna Nagar and Palak Kohli emerged victorious in their respective group stage games. Nagar defeated Didin Taresoh 2-0 (22-20, 21-10) in Men’s Singles SH6 Group match. Meanwhile, Kohli, got the better of Zehra Baglar 21-12, 21-18.
Auna Tanwar lost to Peru’s LC Espinoza in Women K44-49kg Quarterfinal round of Taekwondo event at the Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020. Tanwar suffered a 21-84 defeat against the Peruvian. She will now face Azerbaijan’s Royala Fataliyeva in the Repechage round.
World No.1 Parul Parmar lost her opening game in straight sets in the Women’s Singles SL4 Group match of the Badminton event at Tokyo Paralympic Games against China’s Hefang Chang.
Rahul Jakhar and Akash finished in 13th and 20th positions respectively in the Mixed 25M Pistol SH1 Qualification – Precision round.
Aruna Tanwar defeated Serbian Danijela Jovanovic 29-9 in her round of 16 bout in the Taekwondo w=event at Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020 to advance to the final eight.
Tarun Dhillon also started his Paralympic Games campaign on the front foot with a straight-set win over Thailand’s Siripong Teamarrom in badminton’s Men’s Singles SL4 Group match.
Suhas Yathiraj won his opening group game of Paralympics 2020 in badminton as he defeated Germany’s Niklas J Pott 2-0. Yathiraj will be aiming to advance to the next round with a win in his second match.
Prachi Yadav was India’s first-ever athlete to qualify for the canoeing event at the Paralympic Games and has not qualified for the semifinals of the event, finishing fourth in the 200m VL2 heat with a tome of 1:11.098.
Indian women’s badminton duo of Palak Kohli and Paral Parmar lost their opening group match 2-0 against second seeds Huihui MA and Hefang Cheng of China. They will be aiming to get back to winning ways in their next game.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games have turned out to be a great outing. In this article, we shall bring to you the live score, medal winners from the 16th paralympic games. But before that, let’s have a look at the events tomorrow. So there are a host of events for India today. The day begins with Akash Jakhar and Rahul Jakhar’s SH1 Qualification-Precision event at around 05.15 am and then 15 minutes later we have Palak Kohli and Parul Parmar who will be participating in the badminton event. Kohli and Parmar will be featuring in the Women’s Doubles SL3 – SU5- Group B. Suhas Yathiraj will be playing the next game in the Men’s Singles SL4 – Group A badminton’s event. These players will play the next few rounds subject to qualification. On day 8 we had India winning no medals and thus on day 9 the athletes will look to bring up the medal tally.
So far India has won 10 medals in all. The Indian athletes have won 2 golds, five silver medals and three bronze medals. Presently, India is placed on number 34 in the medal tally. China leads the medal tally with 147 medals with 68 golds, 43 silver and 36 bronze. It would be quite an interesting day with a host of events at the Paralympics.
