Mumbai, December 3: Central government employees who are eagerly awaiting to hear good news about DA arrears might receive some news soon. As per reports, the Centre is most likely to take a decision on the 18-month pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears soon. For a long time, Central government employees have been demanding their DA arrears.

Reportedly, Central government employees haven’t receive their DA arrears for 18-monthhs from January 2020 to June 2021. In view if the COVID-19 pandemic, the government stopped payment of DA arrears to its employees However, the demand for long-pending DA arrears has been gaining momentum for some time now. 7th Pay Commission Latest News: Central Govt Employees Expected To Get Next DA Hike In March 2023; Check How Much Salary Will Increase.

According to various reports, a union cabinet meet on 18-months DA arrears is likely to take place soon. Reports also suggest that central government employees are likely to receive DA arrears in three instalments. However, there has been no official announcement from the government on the same.

It must be noted that if the Centre approves the long pending demand of 18-month DA arrears, then government employees will also receive a huge benefit. The DA arrears of Level-3 employees will be around Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554 if the Centre approves the DA arrears payment. Similarly, the DA arrears of Level-13 or Level-14 employees will be between Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200. 7th Pay Commission: HRA of Central Government Employees to Increase Soon? Meanwhile, there are also reports of government employees receiving 3 to 5 percent DA hike in March 2023. This year in September, the Centre increased DA of government employees by 4 percent, thus taking the DA to 38 percent from the previous 34 percent. Earlier, central government employees were receiving a DA of 34 percent which was raised from 31 percent to 34 percent in March 2022.
