The Malayalam film Aattam: The Play was honoured with the Best Feature Film award. For his exceptional performance in Kantara, Rishab Shetty received the Best Actor award. The Best Actress honour was shared by Nithya Menen for Thiruchitrambalam and Manasi Parekh for Kutch Express. Sooraj Barjatya’s Unnchai was recognised as Best Director. Gulmohar, a Hindi film, received special recognition and actor Manoj Bajpayee was honoured with a special mention for his performance in the same film. Jani Master’s National Film Award Revoked

Choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, widely known as Jani Master, has had his National Film Award for Best Choreography for the Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam revoked following sexual harassment allegations brought against him by his assistant choreographer. The decision comes in the wake of his arrest in Goa earlier this month on charges related to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
