Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) disconnected 47 illegal water connections taken from the main water pipeline in Pethenagar on Tuesday.

The CSMC administration had recently held a meeting of the water supply department. Administrator G Srikanth directed the officers to launch a strict drive against the illegal water connections in various localities in the city. Accordingly, the drive against the illegal connections in Pethenagar, Bhavsinghpura area, was carried out on Tuesday. Considering the opposition from the residents, a strict police bandobast was deployed during the drive. In all, 47 illegal connections were detected and destroyed on the spot. The drive was launched under the leadership of Santosh Wahule. The illegal connections were traced by inserting a robotic camera into the main pipeline.

The CSMC squad engineer Rohit Ingle said that the outstanding water tax, amounting to тВ╣12,029, was recovered from the residents in this area. The drive was implemented by Vaibhav Bhatkar, Swapnil Paikade, Pathan, Sagar Digole, Tushar Potpillewar, PI Dilip Thakur, PSI Sopan Narale, NS Maske, S L Bawaskar, Kailas Chormare, Ganesh Shejul, Sachin Wani, Habib Khan, Rahul Salve, and others.

Fire Brigade Issues Notices to 75 Establishments in Nanded for Fire Safety Compliance

A hotel in the Anandnagar area and a hostel caught fire in the city a few days ago. The Nanded Waghala City Municipal Corporation fire brigade has now woken up from a deep slumber and served notices to 75 establishments, including shops, hotels, and showrooms, between Anandnagar and ITI Chowk.

Chief fire brigade officer K H Dasare said that fire incidents occurred in Anandnagar and other places in the city. As a security measure, the establishments in various locations have been served notices to raise awareness about fire dangers, and they have been warned to implement measures to tackle fire situations. Fire-fighting equipment should be installed in their establishments.

In total, 75 shops, hotels, and showrooms between Anandnagar and ITI Chowk have been served notices to present the fire brigade NOC to the department. The area between Babanagar and Anandnagar is an education hub with several colleges, coaching classes, and hostels. Hence, it is important to establish safety measures in this area. Accordingly, the establishments have been warned to implement safety measures. The areas of Anandnagar, Tilaknagar, Bhagyanagar, Kailashnagar, and Babanagar have been targeted initially, and establishment owners have been asked to adopt the safety measures. Action will be taken against those who do not submit the NOC, Dasare said.
