Four boys who were raping a 14-year-old girl in BiharтАЩs Kaimur district on Saturday fled after being spotted by a primary school headmaster but instead of helping her, the headmaster also raped her, police said on Monday.
Kaimur superintendent of police (SP) Rakesh Kumar said the headmaster, Surendra Kumar Bhaskar, has been arrested and efforts are being made to apprehend the four minors.
The rape survivor told the police that she had stepped out to answer natureтАЩs call on Saturday evening when she was abducted by the four boys from a neighbouring village. They took her a short distance away to a secluded spot and started to rape her.
Police said the headmaster had spotted the four boys forcibly taking the girl away and had followed them at a distance.
The boys were taking turns to rape her when they saw him. They fled.
The girl told the police that she thought the headmaster of a government-run primary school will save her. Instead, he raped her and left her bleeding in the bushes.
The girl managed to reach home and told her mother about the rape.
Police said a case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso) against the teacher and the four minors.
The girl was taken to the districtтАЩs Sadar hospital for treatment and medical examination.
Rakesh Kumar said the girlтАЩs statement will be recorded before a magistrate under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
This is the second instance of a minor girlтАЩs rape in the area. An 11-year-old girl was raped and brutally killed in a neighbouring village, allegedly by two masons who were arrested in the case.
