The Indian men’s 4x400m relay team, competing in Round 1 Heat 2 at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, failed to qualify for the finals. Nonetheless, they scripted an Asian record with a time of 3:00:25.
The Netherlands women’s team won the gold medal in hockey at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. They beat Australia 2-1 to win the gold.

Bajrang Punia will compete for a Bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020 as he lost 12-5 in the semi-final bout against Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliyev. The Indian wrestler will now wait for his opponent in the repechage round and will be aiming for a podium finish with a win in that bout.
Bajrang Punia defeated Iran’s Ghiasi Cheka to move to the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Indian won the bout by pinning his opponent.

India women’s hockey team fell short of a bronze medal after a defeat to Great Britain in the third-place match.
Seema Bisla has lost her opening round match at Tokyo 2020. She lost to Tunisia’s Sarra Hamdi 3-1 in the round of 16.
IND 3-2 GBR, HT: Elena Rayer and Sarah Robertson had put GBR in a two-goal lead but a brace from Gurjit Kaur brought India back into the game and then Vandana Katariya put them in the lead.

We are at the business end of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and we have a few events that would only help Indians in increasing the medal tally. On day 13, we had the Indian Men’s Hockey team winning the bronze medal after 41 years as they went on to beat Germany 5-4. The social media was flooded with congratulatory messages from the fans and other prominent personalities to wish the Indian Men’s hockey team. However, India’s Vinesh Phogat will return home empty-handed as she lost to Vanesa Kaladzinskaya in Women’s 53kg. Phogat had lost the quarterfinal match. Anshu Malik also failed to get a bronze medal. On the other hand, we had Ravi Kumar Dahiya who settled for a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Dahiya, the Indian wrestler was beaten 7-4 Zavur by Uguev of the Russian Olympic Committee. Thus he had to settle for a silver medal. The biggest heartbreak for the day was the match between Deepak Punia and Myles Amine where the Indian wrestler lost in the dying seconds of the game. In fact, he was in the lead 20 seconds before the final hooter and suddenly Amine scored a two-pointer.
