Gamers were treated to dozens of new video game titles and updates, including a big showing of Spider-Man 2.
PlayStation also unveiled a new “remote play” handheld device and gaming earbuds.
The handheld features a Nintendo Switch-like screen with a redesigned DualSense controller attached.
This device is set to sync with gamers’ PlayStation 5 consoles and enable games to be played remotely (subject to a strong internet and Wi-Fi connection).
PlayStation’s remote play device, named “Project Q”, is expected to launch later this year.
But the biggest reveal was about 10 and a half minutes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay.
Showcasing a darker side to everyone’s friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, the sequel to Insomniac Games’ hugely successful 2018 video game stole the show.
The game looks to be expanding its map, opening up the bridge to Queens and allowing players to explore so much more of Spidey’s home.
Kraven the Hunter is out to get Spider-Man and all of his friends (and seemingly enemies) with the help from the other Spider-Man, Miles Morales.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to the PlayStation 5 exclusively in spring this year.
Other PlayStation 5 first-party titles revealed include Fairgame$, an upcoming heist shooter by Haven Studios.
A cinematic trailer was shown off for the game, ending on a QR code that directs gamers to a website to register for updates.
Marathon is a new game on the way from developer Bungie, a sci-fi multiplayer shooter.
No release date for this just yet, but we’ll have to keep an eye out.
Bungie also showed off an incoming update for Destiny 2 named The Final Shape.
More details will be revealed in a Destiny-focused showcase in August.
PlayStation’s Firewalk Studios has revealed its new game, Concord.
In a cinematic teaser trailer, we can make out the game is set in space, featuring guns and space-burgers.
What the game is actually about is anyone’s guess!
Concord is set to release on PlayStation 5 and PC next year.
On the third-party front, leading the pack we have a gameplay reveal for Assasin’s Creed Mirage, Allan Wake 2 and Helldivers 2.
