The police force was immediately dispatched to the scene, and the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem.
The injured were admitted to Morena Hospital for treatment.
The incident was caused by an ongoing dispute between Ranjit Tomar and Radhe Tomar over land ownership. In 2014, members of Ranjit Tomar’s family killed three members of Radhe Tomar’s family, and the former had since left the village.
However, when Ranjit Tomar’s family returned to the village recently, they attacked with the intention of taking revenge. Following the incident, the accused and their families absconded.
Police are searching for the accused, and they believe that they may be hiding in nearby fields and ravines.
Additionally, the nearby village of Bhidosa, which is also the village of Dimni MLA Ravindra Tomar, is known for its association with the dacoit Paan Singh Tomar, who had a similar land dispute and became a dacoit.
