CBFC Asks Pushpa 2 Makers To Delete ‘R**di’, Change ‘Venkateshwar’ To ‘God’

After much anticipation and hype, Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun in the lead role, is finally set to hit the theatres on December 5, 2024. The film has been granted a U/A certificate by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make the film a grand pan-India success.

According to a report in Bollywood Life, Pushpa 2 will have a runtime of 3 hours 20 minutes in theatres, making it one of the longest films of Indian cinema. The CBFC has suggested some minor changes and modifications to the makers, to make the film eligible for the desi audience to watch.

The report claimed that the word ‘r**di’ has been deleted from the film in three places. The word ‘Venkateshwar’ has been changed to ‘God’, and the Censor Board has also asked to replace the word ‘Denguddi’.

Not just that, but the Censor Board also flagged a scene wherein an amputated leg was shown flying in the air, and asked the makers to delete it. In another scene, the protagonist was seen holding the severed arm of a person, for which the CBFC asked the makers to zoom into the protagonist’s face so that the gory part will not be shown on the screen.

Besides Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2 also stars Rashmika Mandanna as his wife, Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as the main antagonist. After the mammoth success of Pushpa: The Rise, the makers are expecting an even bigger and better response for the sequel, which has already generated immense buzz, not just in South but across the country, and even abroad.

As per trade experts, Pushpa 2 is eyeing to touch the numbers of Jawan, as the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer is the highest grossing Indian film so far. Reports also stated that the film might even surpass the numbers given the hype.
