Brs: BJP and BRS governments are conspiring to privatise Singareni, alleges CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka | India News

HYDERABAD: Congress legislature party leader Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said efforts are being made to privatise the Singareni coal mines through a joint conspiracy by the BJP and BRS governments and sought to assure the employees that the Congress will do everything to stop the privatisation.
“In Telangana, where we claim our crops, forests, and wealth as ours, the ploy to privatize the Singareni Collieries is underway. Nearly 60,000 jobs would be lost if it is privatised. The Congress will never allow the BRS or BJP government to privatise Telangana’s resources,” Bhatti said while addressing a meeting at Tandoor of Mancherial district on the 13th day of his pada yatra.
Bhatti vowed to bring about a transformative change and progress, and address the state’s unfulfilled goals, such as access to water, funds, jobs, and self-respect, compensate for crop losses caused by natural disasters, offer financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh for constructing own house and gas cylinder refill at Rs. 500, if Congress was voted to form the government.
He slammed the BRS and BJP governments for neglecting one lakh farmers affected by the recent unseasonal rains and hailstorm. “CM KCR announced Rs 10,000 compensation per acre. The relief package lacks a scientific basis as the officials have not completed their survey and assessed the damage. The compensation should be based on the extent of damage, and taking into account the varying costs of cultivation, yield per acre, and income for different crops,” he said.
A crop insurance scheme in Telangana would have provided affected farmers with a larger relief package. The BRS government should implement crop insurance policy to protect farmers from crop losses due to natural calamities in future, he said.
Bhatti also lambasted the BJP government for serving an eviction notice on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. The disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as MP within 24 hours of his two-year sentencing by a Surat court, followed by an eviction notice from his official bungalow at 12 Tughlak Lane within two days of his disqualification, only strengthens the suspicion that everything is happening as per a larger conspiracy, he alleged.
