NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that development of Uttar Pradesh has provided an impetus for country’s overall growth.
“Today, Uttar Pradesh has become a hope for the world and is driving country’s overall growth” he said.
Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit, in Lucknow, PM Modi said that the state is known for good governance, peace, law and order, and stability today.
The Prime Minister also said that Uttar Pradesh was once called the BIMARU state, but in the last 4-5 years has shown tremendous growth and steady progress.
“Uttar Pradesh has also benefited greatly from the work that has been done to increase social, physical, and digital infrastructures,” the prime minister said.
“The state is witnessing holistic development, and has changed its ‘soch’ and ‘approach’ for ease of doing business.”
PM Modi told the audience that India’s focus remains on carrying out reforms out of conviction, and not compulsion.
“India is progressing keeping speed and scale in mind.” He further added that India’s focus remains on ‘green growth’ and ‘green hydrogen’.
The Prime Minister also said millets or ‘Sri Anna’ were being promoted as superfoods in the country.
“In the coming years, UP will get the gift of 100 incubators and 3 state-of-the-art centers. This will create a big pool of talented and skilled youth for investors,” he added while speaking at the event.
PM Modi arrived at the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow on Friday.
He inaugurated an exhibition ahead of the summit.
Top industrialists, including Aditya Birla group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani also participated in the event.
