Thane: The Shantinagar Police booked a case against a 20-year-old man for allegedly masturbating on the terrace of the building. The accused has been identified as Mohammed Rayyan Siddiqui, 20, a resident of Bhiwandi.
A case was filed under section 79 (Word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 329(2) (Criminal Trespass or House trespass) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita on Thursday.
The police said that the accused allegedly trespassed the building and went onto the terrace. He unzipped his pants and masturbated on the clothes placed for drying on the terrace.
The act of the accused was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the building. Following this seeing this, the victim and other female members of the society felt their modesty was outraged.
The victim, along with others, approached the police station and filed a case against him. Assistant Police Inspector Sarjerao Patil from Shanti Nagar police station said, “We booked a case when the complainant and other women approached us. We circulated an unclear photo of the accused to the informers. We traced him, arrested him, produced him in court, and remanded him into magistrate custody. The accused has been enlarged on bail due to a bailable offence.”
Patil further said during the preliminary investigation, it was learned that the accused had masturbated on the clothes of women residents multiple times before.
